Villa Sole is advertised as a luxury villa,...Van Contact uit · 05.09.2025
Reisperiode: 28.08.2025reizend als:
Villa Sole is advertised as a luxury villa, but in reality it’s a very basic house with low-level equipment. The only real advantage is that it can host a large group under one roof.
After staying last year at Villa Nocciola, due to various issues, the owner/agency offered us a discount for this year. Sadly, the same problems repeated themselves — with only a few improvements — so in general the experience still falls far short of what regular accommodation should be, let alone anything called “luxury.”
Internet (main issue):
At Nocciola the internet was basically not working. We were promised that Sole would have proper internet throughout the house. With six teenagers this was essential. To be fair, it is somewhat better this year, but still not good enough. On the ground floor the connection is usable (after 1–2 days it took them to repair), but on the first and second floors it’s practically dead. For a house advertised for 12 people this is not acceptable, so you end up relying on mobile data.
Kitchenware:
Exactly the same as last year: not enough glasses (around one per guest). Guests constantly need to reuse or wash. Utensils and knives are the most basic ones, and the dishwasher doesn’t wash properly. The cutlery basket is broken, so forks and spoons fall through and block the rotor. Cooking or eating together becomes frustrating.
Cleanliness:
This has improved compared to last year. At Sole the place was clean on arrival, which was a relief.
Pool & Wellness:
• Pool: Looks great in pictures, but the water is always cold. Until noon it’s in the house’s shade, then quickly in the trees’ shade. Likely 5°C colder than the sea.
• Sunbeds & umbrella: Very basic plastic, broken, and only 7 for 12 people. One umbrella, fragile, and we were told to be careful with it in case of wind.
• Jacuzzi: The bubble function doesn’t work, and only one seat has real jet power. For others it’s just a weak drizzle.
• Sauna: Struggles to reach 72°C and only with the door blocked by a towel. More for show than use.
Furniture & Comfort:
• Mattresses: Heavily worn out, clearly low budget. You wake up with back pain.
• Rooms: No mosquito nets in bedrooms. You either keep windows shut, let mosquitoes in, or run AC all night.
• Bathrooms: Very flimsy shower cabins and fixtures. Missing towel and toilet paper holders in some. Towels: one big and one small per person, with instructions to wash them yourself. Some bathroom keys missing or broken.
• TVs: Tiny 32-inch in bedrooms, around 42-inch in the large living room. For a house this size, this is laughable.
• Sofa: The living room is large but the sofa only fits 3–4 people. For a house meant for 12, this makes no sense. Evenings together watching a movie or playing games are impossible.
Overall:
Both Nocciola and Sole are marketed as “luxury villas,” but in reality they are below average rentals. Poor internet, under-equipped kitchen, cheap furniture, and wellness features that don’t really work. Cleanliness has improved compared to last year, but most issues remain. In truth, Villa Sole is a very basic house with low-level equipment and furnishings. The only real value is that there are not many villas in the area that can host such a large group. If you only need space, it may work, but for comfort, quality, or proper amenities it will disappoint.
